Renovation and redesign in accordance with current health standards
The Seligenstadt Clinic commissioned chore to carry out a comprehensive renovation and modernization of the patient rooms on the second floor. The goal was to redesign the existing spaces in accordance with current healthcare standards and create a patient-friendly environment.

Scope of the construction work
The work encompassed all relevant trades—from the complete removal of the existing fixtures to the completion of the patient room renovations.
Rough construction and demolition work
Prior to the renovation, all existing fixtures were professionally dismantled and disposed of, thereby laying the groundwork for a hygienically sound fresh start:
- Removal of old flooring
- Demolition of the plumbing facilities
- Removal of existing supply rails
- Dismantling of all furniture

Drywall Construction and Utility Infrastructure
The installation of new drywall partitions also significantly improved the medical infrastructure in the rooms. The new walls, which feature built-in utility rails, are designed to meet the hygiene requirements of hospital operations: they have smooth, disinfectable surfaces with no hard-to-reach joints or cavities.

The entire technical infrastructure has been upgraded with a focus on quality and future-proofing:
- Complete replacement of the electrical wiring
- Installation of modern nurse call systems
- Installation of modern fire protection systems

The wet areas and floor surfaces were completely renovated. In addition to the construction work, compliance with hygiene requirements was a top priority:
- Installation of high-quality wall and floor tiles in wet areas
- Installation of modern plumbing fixtures in accordance with the latest hygiene standards
- Installation of new flooring with baseboards

To ensure a consistent and welcoming look, all surfaces and interior elements were redesigned:
- Painting of all built-in cabinets and door frames
- Installation of wall protection with a smooth, easy-to-clean surface

Tight schedule

Hospital projects rarely allow for delays—and this one was no exception. The tight schedule required consistent optimization of work processes and careful resource management. Through close coordination among all trades involved and proactive scheduling, we were able to complete the work on time without compromising on the quality of the workmanship.
Integration of existing plumbing lines
The building’s layout presented the project team with an additional challenge: the existing plumbing lines were already in place and still needed to be integrated effectively into the new spatial concept. chore therefore developed customized solutions that intelligently accommodate the existing piping layout while fully meeting both the functional and design requirements of the clinic.

The renovated patient rooms meet high standards of functionality and design. A key feature is the custom-designed wall-mounted system with an integrated utility rail, which enables flexible and efficient medical care.
The renovated facilities create a pleasant environment for patients while also providing optimized working conditions for the clinic staff. In this way, the renovation combines medical functionality, state-of-the-art technology, and a calm, high-quality interior design—fully in line with the client’s vision.
